Claude Code docs

No account or Python needed. Claude Code picks it up in its next session.

Save it into your project

curl -fsSL --create-dirs -o .claude/skills/developersglobal-research-and-summarize/SKILL.md https://app.decimal.ai/s/developersglobal-research-and-summarize/SKILL.md

Keep it pinned and updatable

pip install "decimalai>=0.15"
decimalai skills add developersglobal-research-and-summarize
claude --plugin-dir "$(git rev-parse --show-toplevel)/.agents"

Type these in a Claude Code session. No account or API key. It writes the skill and any files it bundles, and asks first when its safety rating isn't Passed.

Add the DecimalAI plugin, once

/plugin marketplace add decimal-labs/decimalai-claude-plugins
/plugin install decimalai@decimalai

Install this skill

/decimalai:install developersglobal-research-and-summarize

The plugin needs python3 and curl on your machine.

Claude Agent SDK docs

agent_config() hands your agent the skill. With no DecimalAI key it reads your project's files and sends nothing. Needs SDK 0.27 or newer.

Install

Add it to your agent

What to look for

Opens with a headline insight of exactly one sentence.
Presents three to five bulleted key findings backing the headline.
Cross-references memory benchmark claims across at least two independent sources.

Optional, not a framework

Saved prompts and skills, pinned versions, and traces of this skill in your runs. DecimalAI does not run your agent.

Claude Code reads files from your project, so DecimalAI config does not apply there.

On Claude Agent SDK: save the skill to an agent here, set DECIMAL_API_KEY, and the same code uses it with no command to run. Changes you save reach the next run with no redeploy.

On OpenAI Agents: save the skill to an agent here, set DECIMAL_API_KEY, and the same code uses it with no command to run. Changes you save reach the next run with no redeploy.

What's inside

SKILL.md65 linessingle file

The instructions your model reads when the skill loads.

Overview

Information overload is the default state. This skill transforms any research task into a structured summary: headline insight first, context second, detail third, action last. Designed for decision-makers who need clarity, not comprehensiveness.

When to Use

Summarizing technical documentation or papers
Researching a technology choice
Briefing a team on a topic
Distilling a long document for a specific decision

Process

Step 1: Define the Research Question

State the specific question being answered: "Should we use Kafka or RabbitMQ for our event pipeline?"
State who the answer is for and what decision it enables.
This scopes the research — don't gather information beyond what the decision needs.

Verify: Research question is specific enough to have a clear answer.

Step 2: Gather and Evaluate Sources

Identify 3–5 high-quality, authoritative sources.
For each source, note: recency, authority, potential bias.
Cross-reference key claims across sources.
Flag conflicting information — don't silently pick one side.

Verify: Key claims are supported by at least 2 independent sources.

Step 3: Write the Layered Summary

Headline (1 sentence): The single most important insight.
Key findings (3–5 bullets): Supporting evidence for the headline.
Context and nuance (1–2 paragraphs): Caveats, tradeoffs, conditions under which the headline doesn't hold.
What we don't know: Gaps in the available information.
Recommended action: Given the findings, what should the reader do next?

Deliver: A structured summary with all 5 sections.
