What to look for
Saved prompts and skills, pinned versions, and traces of this skill in your runs. DecimalAI does not run your agent.
Claude Code reads files from your project, so DecimalAI config does not apply there.
On Claude Agent SDK: save the skill to an agent here, set DECIMAL_API_KEY, and the same code uses it with no command to run. Changes you save reach the next run with no redeploy.
On OpenAI Agents: save the skill to an agent here, set DECIMAL_API_KEY, and the same code uses it with no command to run. Changes you save reach the next run with no redeploy.
On OpenAI SDK: save the skill to an agent here, set DECIMAL_API_KEY, and the same code uses it with no command to run. Changes you save reach the next run with no redeploy.
On Anthropic: save the skill to an agent here, set DECIMAL_API_KEY, and the same code uses it with no command to run. Changes you save reach the next run with no redeploy.
On Gemini API: save the skill to an agent here, set DECIMAL_API_KEY, and the same code uses it with no command to run. Changes you save reach the next run with no redeploy.
On LangChain: save the skill to an agent here, set DECIMAL_API_KEY, and the same code uses it with no command to run. Changes you save reach the next run with no redeploy.
On CrewAI: set DECIMAL_API_KEY and add decimalai.init(crewai=True) to record runs and skill use. The skill version stays in your repo.
On Google ADK: save the skill to an agent here, set DECIMAL_API_KEY, and the same code uses it with no command to run. Changes you save reach the next run with no redeploy.
On Pydantic AI: save the skill to an agent here, set DECIMAL_API_KEY, and the same code uses it with no command to run. Changes you save reach the next run with no redeploy.
On Deep Agents: set DECIMAL_API_KEY and add decimalai.init(langchain=True) to record runs and skill use. The skill version stays in your repo.
On Microsoft Agent Framework: set DECIMAL_API_KEY and add decimalai.init(otel=True, agent_name="support") to record runs and skill use. The skill version stays in your repo.
On Strands: set DECIMAL_API_KEY and add decimalai.init(otel=True, agent_name="support") to record runs and skill use. The skill version stays in your repo.
Editors read files from your project, so DecimalAI config does not apply there.
Anywhere else: record a use with decimalai.log_skill_activation() inside a trace.

The instructions your model reads when the skill loads.
The ticket rail is where orders hang until a cook reads them: is it a real order, is it already on the line, whose station is it. This skill is that read for incoming issue reports. It decides what the report is, whether it duplicates something, and whether anyone may start fixing it, before a single line of code is written.
Core principle: no confirmed repro, no authored fix. A report is a lead; a reproduction is evidence.
Freeze the source coordinates. Record the exact thread, issue URL, permalink, and reporter message you are triaging, and keep them unchanged. Every later read, and any reply the operator has asked for, uses those, never a later comment or a different thread.
Read the whole report. The root, every reply, every attachment. Capture reporter wording, version, environment, expected versus observed behavior, frequency, trigger, error text, and any link to an existing issue, commit, or PR. Read screenshots, logs, and traces; if an attachment cannot be read, say so rather than guess what it shows. Use evidence already in the thread first. Asking the reporter anything is something the operator must have requested; otherwise put the question in the verdict.
Trace the cause, bounded. Find the code path from the reported action to the observed result, whether the symptom belongs to that code or a dependency, recent changes if it looks like a regression (lineage), and whether a merged commit or open PR already addresses it. Keep confirmed facts apart from hypotheses. The pass need not find the root cause, only avoid routing to the wrong owner. If the repo cannot be read, say cause tracing was unavailable.
Classify as one of: bug, performance (a bug with measurements to preserve), feature, question, or reroute (another project or owner). If bug versus feature is unclear, do not file; ask one focused question.
Dedupe. Search the tracker by exact error text, area, trigger, symptom, version window, and suspected commit. Choose an outcome:
| Outcome | Means | Action |
|---|---|---|
| Confident duplicate | Same signature, or same area, trigger, and symptom | Recommend linking the report to the existing issue with a recurrence note |
| Possible | A shared cause is plausible, not proven | Mention it as uncertain; create nothing |
| Weak | Superficial resemblance | Note and move on |
| None | No match | Continue |
A long-closed issue is a regression lead, not a live duplicate.
Gate the fix.
confirmed, insufficient, or inconclusive. Never write a competing patch.Create only for a clear, live, net-new bug. All must hold: classified bug or performance, clearly broken, still live, no confident or possible live match, the source link will be recorded, and the operator asked in this session for issues to be opened. Without that request the verdict recommends creating it and creates nothing. Never create for a feature, question, reroute, duplicate, or already-fixed report. The new issue is self-contained: area and symptom in the title, reporter quote, expected and observed, version and environment (or unknown), trigger and frequency, source link, cause-trace findings with hypotheses labelled. No guessed root cause in the title.
Deliver an internal verdict by default. Linking, commenting, labelling, creating an issue, and asking the reporter a question all happen only when the operator asked for them in this session; otherwise each is a recommendation in the verdict. Never post to a different place than the source, and never start a replacement thread.
