Frappe Query Builder (frappe.qb)

impertio-studio/frappe-syntax-query-builder

Use when building database queries with frappe.qb in Frappe v14-v16. Covers the PyPika-based query builder: SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE, joins, aggregation, subqueries, cross-DB compatibility (MariaDB/PostgreSQL), and migration from raw SQL. Prevents SQL injection and DB-specific bugs. Keywords: frappe.qb, query builder, DocType, Field, pypika, join,, frappe.qb example, how to write query, join tables, SQL replacement, parameterized query. aggregate, ImportMapper, cross-database, parameterize

What it changes

One test taskWhen retrieving 'Employee' records where 'department' matches any value in a list `allowed_depts = ['Sales', 'Support', 'Ops']`, which query builder method should be chained on the field?

Claude Code docs

No account or Python needed. Claude Code picks it up in its next session.

Save it into your project

curl -fsSL --create-dirs -o .claude/skills/impertio-studio-frappe-syntax-query-builder/SKILL.md https://app.decimal.ai/s/impertio-studio-frappe-syntax-query-builder/SKILL.md

Keep it pinned and updatable

pip install "decimalai>=0.15"
decimalai skills add impertio-studio-frappe-syntax-query-builder
claude --plugin-dir "$(git rev-parse --show-toplevel)/.agents"

This gets SKILL.md only. The skill's 3 other files are not included. The other two ways bring them.

Type these in a Claude Code session. No account or API key. It writes the skill and any files it bundles, and asks first when its safety rating isn't Passed.

Add the DecimalAI plugin, once

/plugin marketplace add decimal-labs/decimalai-claude-plugins
/plugin install decimalai@decimalai

Install this skill

/decimalai:install impertio-studio-frappe-syntax-query-builder

The plugin needs python3 and curl on your machine.

No tools at all. Claude Code picks it up in its next session.

CrewAI docs

CrewAI's own skill loader reads the installed folder. No DecimalAI account needed.

Install

pip install "decimalai>=0.16" "crewai>=1.15.27"
decimalai skills add impertio-studio-frappe-syntax-query-builder

Add it to your agent

import decimalai.crewai

)
task = Task(description="Hello!", expected_output="an answer", agent=agent)
Crew(agents=[agent], tasks=[task]).kickoff()

The same install from Python, for a notebook or a setup script. CrewAI's own skill loader reads the installed folder. No DecimalAI account needed.

Install

pip install "decimalai>=0.16" "crewai>=1.15.27"

Add it to your agent

Google ADK docs

agent_config() hands your agent the skill. With no DecimalAI key it reads your project's files and sends nothing. Needs SDK 0.27 or newer.

Install

pip install "decimalai[adk]"

Add it to your agent

from decimalai.adk import DecimalAIPlugin, agent_config

Prefer ADK's own loader? SkillToolset(skills=decimalai.adk.skills(), ...) reads the same folder. Use one or the other: a skill delivered both ways reaches the prompt twice.

Install

Other setups docs

Fetch the file and give its text to your model as instructions. No account or package needed.

Get the file

curl -fsSL https://app.decimal.ai/s/impertio-studio-frappe-syntax-query-builder/SKILL.md

Read the summary as JSON

curl -fsSL https://app.decimal.ai/s/impertio-studio-frappe-syntax-query-builder.json

This gets SKILL.md only. The skill's 3 other files are not included.

Now try it

Give your agent this task. In testing, the model failed it without the skill and passed it with the skill.

When retrieving 'Employee' records where 'department' matches any value in a list `allowed_depts = ['Sales', 'Support', 'Ops']`, which query builder method should be chained on the field?

What to look for

Applies the .isin() method on the department field

Claude Code reads files from your project, so DecimalAI config does not apply there.
