Our product duplicate checking API processes thousands of items synchronously, which frequently leads to 504 timeouts in production. Users end up re-clicking the button while the backend thread pool gets overwhelmed. Please help me refactor this Java/Spring endpoint to run the task asynchronously using an in-memory state tracking approach with dedicated trigger and status polling APIs, including proper state cleanup and thread context handling.
