Claude Code docs

No account or Python needed. Claude Code picks it up in its next session.

Save it into your project

curl -fsSL --create-dirs -o .claude/skills/ootto-ai-caption-and-hashtags/SKILL.md https://app.decimal.ai/s/ootto-ai-caption-and-hashtags/SKILL.md

Keep it pinned and updatable

pip install "decimalai>=0.15"
decimalai skills add ootto-ai-caption-and-hashtags
claude --plugin-dir "$(git rev-parse --show-toplevel)/.agents"

Type these in a Claude Code session. No account or API key. It writes the skill and any files it bundles, and asks first when its safety rating isn't Passed.

Add the DecimalAI plugin, once

/plugin marketplace add decimal-labs/decimalai-claude-plugins
/plugin install decimalai@decimalai

Install this skill

/decimalai:install ootto-ai-caption-and-hashtags

The plugin needs python3 and curl on your machine.

Claude Code reads files from your project, so DecimalAI config does not apply there.

One of 10 test cases the skill fixed. Same model, same prompt, with and without the skill.

Prompt

Write the launch text for a YouTube Short showing how to pour a winged tulip latte art pattern. Niche: specialty coffee enthusiasts and home baristas. Goal: comment engagement. Make sure the first line works as a second hook before truncation, keep the caption free of hashtag clusters, provide alt text, and build the starter reply comment.

What was checked, without and with the skill
Checked	Without skill	With skill
The caption contains zero hashtags	Passed	Passed
The starter comment contains a reply-prompting question and 12 to 15 hashtags	Missed	Passed
Alt text describing the video is provided	Passed	Passed

What's inside

SKILL.md35 linessingle file

The instructions your model reads when the skill loads.

Caption & Hashtags

Write the caption, a tiered hashtag set, and a first comment that drives saves, follows, and reach.

When to use

The video's done — now you need the copy that gets it shared and the hashtags that get it found, without looking spammy.

What you'll need

What the reel is about, the platform, your niche, and the goal (saves / follows / comments / link). Optional: your handle and brand voice.

Instructions

Run this prompt:

You are my social copywriter. Write the post copy for this reel.

Reel: [what it's about] Platform: [Reels/TikTok/Shorts] Niche: [niche]
Goal: [saves / follows / comments / DMs]

Give me:
1. CAPTION — a strong first line (it's the only line shown before "more"), then 2-4 short lines of value, then one clear CTA. No hashtag soup in the caption.
2. HASHTAGS — 12-15, tiered: a few broad (1M+), several mid (100k-1M), several niche (<100k). Put them in the first comment, not the caption.
3. FIRST COMMENT — the hashtags + a question that sparks replies (comments boost reach).
4. ALT TEXT — one accessible description of the video.

Match the niche's language. No emojis-as-bullets unless on-brand.

Obsidian memory tip: With your vault connected (Filesystem MCP), ask Claude to "reuse the hashtag sets and CTA style from my best-saved posts." Your proven tags beat a generic list.

Tip: The first line of the caption is a second hook. Make it earn the "…more" tap.
