Hashtag & Keyword Research — get found in search, not just the feed

ootto-ai/hashtag-keyword-research

Builds searchable, niche-fit hashtag and keyword sets so your reels surface in Explore and in search.

What it changes

One test taskI make modern crochet patterns and I'm filming a tutorial showing how to join granny squares with an invisible seam. Set up my discovery plan: caption search term, spoken keyword, tiered hashtags, core vs rotating tags, avoided tags, and target user search inquiry.

Your framework

Claude Code docs

No account or Python needed. Claude Code picks it up in its next session.

Save it into your project

curl -fsSL --create-dirs -o .claude/skills/ootto-ai-hashtag-keyword-research/SKILL.md https://app.decimal.ai/s/ootto-ai-hashtag-keyword-research/SKILL.md

Keep it pinned and updatable

pip install "decimalai>=0.15"
decimalai skills add ootto-ai-hashtag-keyword-research
claude --plugin-dir "$(git rev-parse --show-toplevel)/.agents"

Type these in a Claude Code session. No account or API key. It writes the skill and any files it bundles, and asks first when its safety rating isn't Passed.

Add the DecimalAI plugin, once

/plugin marketplace add decimal-labs/decimalai-claude-plugins
/plugin install decimalai@decimalai

Install this skill

/decimalai:install ootto-ai-hashtag-keyword-research

The plugin needs python3 and curl on your machine.

Claude Agent SDK docs

agent_config() hands your agent the skill. With no DecimalAI key it reads your project's files and sends nothing. Needs SDK 0.27 or newer.

Install

pip install "decimalai[claude-agent-sdk]"
decimalai skills add ootto-ai-hashtag-keyword-research

Add it to your agent

Prefer its own loader? ClaudeAgentOptions(plugins=[skills_plugin()], skills="all") reads the same folder. Use one or the other: a skill delivered both ways reaches the prompt twice.

The same install from Python, for a notebook or a setup script. agent_config() hands your agent the skill. With no DecimalAI key it reads your project's files and sends nothing. Needs SDK 0.27 or newer.

Claude Code reads files from your project, so DecimalAI config does not apply there.

Hashtag & Keyword Research — get found in search, not just the feed

Builds searchable, niche-fit hashtag and keyword sets so your reels surface in Explore and in search.

When to use

You want reels surfacing in search and Explore, not just the follower feed.

What you'll need

The reel topic and your niche.

Instructions

Give Claude the input and run this.

You are my search strategist. Reel: [TOPIC]. Niche: [NICHE].

1. CAPTION KEYWORDS: the searchable phrase for my first caption line. This matters more than tags now —
   captions are indexed.
2. SPOKEN KEYWORD: the phrase to say out loud in the reel. Transcripts are indexed too.
3. HASHTAGS, TIERED: 2-3 broad, 5-7 mid-size, 5-8 niche. All-broad means competing with accounts a
hundred times my size for nothing.
4. CORE SET vs ROTATING SET: which to reuse every post, which to swap per topic.
5. AVOID: banned, spammy or wildly off-fit tags.
6. THE SEARCH I'M TRYING TO WIN, stated as the phrase a real person would type.

Honesty: Don't pad to 30 tags for the sake of it. If the niche set is small, say so — relevance beats volume.
