This benchmark measured an earlier version of the skill.
A newer attempt on gemini-3.6-flash on 10/11/2026 did not produce a publishable comparison (not comparable). The snapshot above is the previously measured run.
One of 10 test cases the skill fixed. Same model, same prompt, with and without the skill.
We created a new Qdrant collection and inserted a few thousand points. Searches are currently running in unindexed brute-force mode rather than using HNSW. Why is Qdrant operating in brute-force mode for this new collection, and what configuration threshold controls when background indexing starts?

The instructions your model reads when the skill loads.
Qdrant does NOT build HNSW indexes immediately. Small segments use brute-force until they exceed indexing_threshold_kb (default: 10000 KB, about 10 MB). Search during this window is slower by design, not a bug.
Use when: upload or upsert API calls are slow. Identify bottleneck: client-side (network, batching) vs server-side (CPU, disk I/O)
For client-side, optimize batching and parallelism:
For server-side, optimize Qdrant configuration and indexing strategy:
See https://skills.qdrant.tech/md/documentation/manage-data/bulk-upload/
Use when: optimizer running for hours, not finishing.
optimizer_status shows an error, check logs for disk full or corrupted segmentsUse when: HNSW index build dominates total indexing time.
